A quick and easy grilled pineapple recipe featuring a warm cinnamon honey drizzle that caramelizes beautifully on the grill, perfect as a sweet side or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into ½-inch thick rings or wedges
  • 3 tablespoons honey (raw or local recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (freshly ground if possible)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Optional: pinch of ground nutmeg or chili powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pineapple by peeling, coring, and slicing into ½-inch thick rings or wedges, aiming for uniform thickness (about 10 minutes).
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine honey, ground cinnamon, melted butter, and fresh lemon juice. Whisk gently until smooth and set aside.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (375–400°F). If using a grill pan, preheat on stovetop over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
  4. Lightly brush grill grates with oil or butter to prevent sticking. Place pineapple slices on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden caramelized grill marks appear and texture softens slightly.
  5. During the last minute of grilling, brush cinnamon honey drizzle generously on both sides of the pineapple to warm and soak in.
  6. Remove pineapple from grill using tongs and transfer to a serving platter. Drizzle any remaining honey mixture over the top. Serve warm but not piping hot.

Notes

Use firm yet ripe pineapple for best grilling results. Oil grill grates well to prevent sticking. Apply drizzle near the end to avoid burning sugars. Let pineapple rest a couple minutes before serving to thicken drizzle and redistribute juices. For vegan version, substitute butter with coconut oil and honey with maple syrup.
