  • 4 ounces (115g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (150g) fresh strawberries, hulled and finely chopped
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar or brown sugar (optional)
  • Optional garnishes: fresh mint leaves or powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the bagels into bite-sized pieces (quarter regular bagels or halve mini bagels). Arrange in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, combine chopped strawberries, honey or maple syrup, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and sugar if using. Stir gently and let sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Spread softened cream cheese evenly on each bagel piece.
  5. Spoon about a teaspoon of the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese on each piece.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are slightly golden and the topping looks glossy and thickened.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. Optionally garnish with fresh mint or powdered sugar.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature.
