Easy Mummy Hot Dogs - featured image

These adorable mummy hot dogs are wrapped in crescent roll dough with mustard eyes, ready in just 25 minutes. Perfect for Halloween parties, they’re a fun and easy treat that kids love to help make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs (standard size, preferably beef)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (e.g., Pillsbury)
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Optional: Everything bagel seasoning
  • Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional: Garlic powder or onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Open the can of crescent rolls, unroll the dough, and separate into 8 triangles. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice each triangle lengthwise into 3 thin strips (24 strips total).
  3. Take one hot dog and wrap a strip of dough around it at a slight angle, leaving a small gap near the top for the face. Overlap the dough slightly as you go. Repeat with remaining hot dogs, using about 3 strips per hot dog.
  4. Place wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffed.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. Use a toothpick to dab two small dots of yellow mustard onto the exposed hot dog area at the top for eyes.
  7. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature dough to prevent cracking. Don’t over-wrap the dough; leave gaps for the mummy look. Add mustard eyes after baking to prevent spreading. For a golden finish, brush dough with melted butter before baking. To make ahead, wrap hot dogs up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerate; add 2-3 minutes to baking time.
