A fun and easy Halloween snack featuring hot dogs wrapped in crispy crescent roll dough to resemble mummies, perfect for parties and quick treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Hot Dogs (regular or beef, about 8)
  • 1 tube (8 oz) Crescent Roll Dough
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • Mustard or ketchup for decorating eyes
  • Optional: 2-3 oz thin cheese slices (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • Optional: Poppy seeds or black sesame seeds for eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. Slice each triangle lengthwise into thin strips about 1/4 inch wide.
  3. If using cheese, place a thin slice on each hot dog before wrapping.
  4. Wrap each hot dog with crescent dough strips, leaving gaps to mimic mummy bandages. Do not cover completely.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart.
  6. Brush melted butter over each wrapped hot dog.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until dough is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Once slightly cooled, add eyes using mustard, ketchup, or press in poppy/black sesame seeds before baking if preferred.
  9. Serve warm with favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Leave gaps between dough strips to avoid sogginess and create mummy bandage effect. Use cold dough for easier slicing. Brush generously with melted butter for golden crust. Add eyes after baking for best results or press seeds before baking. For extra crispiness, bake on a wire rack placed on the baking sheet. Can freeze wrapped mummies and bake from frozen with extra cooking time.
