A quick and easy recipe featuring crispy thick-cut fries topped with warm, smoky BBQ pulled pork, perfect for casual gatherings and satisfying meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Frozen thick-cut fries (about 1 lb / 450 g)
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Cooked pulled pork (about 2 cups / 300 g)
  • ½ cup (120 ml) BBQ sauce
  • Optional toppings: ½ cup (50 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions or fresh parsley
  • Optional: pickled jalapeños or crispy fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or prepare your air fryer at the same temperature.
  2. Toss the frozen fries with 1-2 tablespoons of olive or avocado oil in a mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper evenly.
  3. Spread the fries out in a single layer on a baking sheet or place them in the air fryer basket.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes in the oven, flipping halfway through, or air fry for about 15-18 minutes until fries are golden and crispy.
  5. While fries cook, place the pulled pork in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add the BBQ sauce and stir gently to coat the meat evenly. Heat through for about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Once fries are crispy, transfer them to a serving plate or keep them on the baking sheet. Evenly distribute the warm BBQ pulled pork over the fries.
  7. If using cheese, sprinkle shredded cheddar on top and place back into the oven or under a broiler for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts and bubbles.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions, parsley, and optional pickled jalapeños or crispy fried onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not overcrowd fries to keep them crispy. Warm pulled pork gently in BBQ sauce to avoid dryness. Add toppings last-minute to maintain texture. Reheat fries in oven to revive crispiness; avoid microwaving.
