A quick and easy holiday appetizer featuring flaky puff pastry filled with creamy brie cheese and tart cranberry sauce, baked until golden and gooey.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz wheel brie cheese, cut into rough chunks
  • 1 cup chunky cranberry sauce
  • 1 large egg, whisked with 1 tsp water or milk for egg wash
  • Coarse sea salt or flaky salt, optional for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the thawed puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface. Trim edges if desired for neat squares.
  3. Place brie chunks in the center of the pastry, spacing them out evenly.
  4. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of cranberry sauce over each piece of cheese.
  5. Fold the pastry over the filling and press edges firmly with fingers or a fork to seal.
  6. Optional: Chill the assembled bites in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to help the pastry puff.
  7. Brush the tops generously with the egg wash and sprinkle with a pinch of salt if using.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until puffed and deep golden brown.
  9. Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Keep the pastry cold to ensure flakiness. Do not overfill to prevent bursting. If the pastry browns too fast, tent with foil. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free puff pastry. For a vegan version, use vegan puff pastry and vegan brie.
