A quick and easy party snack featuring smoky little smokies wrapped in crispy bacon and glazed with sticky BBQ sauce. Perfect for gatherings and crowd-pleasing occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound little smokies (about 450g), preferably with natural casing
  • 810 slices thin-cut bacon
  • ½ cup (120ml) BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper or smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut each slice of bacon in half crosswise to make 16-20 halves.
  3. Wrap each little smokie tightly with a half slice of bacon, securing the end underneath.
  4. Place the bacon-wrapped smokies on a wire rack set over a rimmed baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
  5. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, garlic powder, black pepper, and optional cayenne or smoked paprika.
  6. Lightly sprinkle the seasoning mix over the smokies, pressing gently to adhere.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes, then carefully flip each smokie with tongs and bake for another 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and brush each smokie generously with BBQ sauce.
  9. Return to oven and bake for 5 more minutes to set the glaze.
  10. Let the smokies rest for 3-5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use thin-cut bacon for best crispiness. Wrapping bacon tightly and baking on a wire rack prevents sogginess. Flip halfway through baking for even crisping. Brush BBQ sauce near the end to avoid burning. Let rest before serving to firm up bacon. Can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving. For a lighter version, use turkey bacon and sugar-free BBQ sauce. Can also be cooked in an air fryer at 375°F for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway.
