  • 24 Oreo cookies (about 1½ cups crushed, including filling)
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 16 ounces (450 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ⅔ cup (80 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 10 Oreo cookies, chopped finely

Instructions

  1. Crush 24 Oreo cookies (including the filling) into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a resealable bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
  2. Mix the crumbs with 5 tablespoons of melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand.
  3. Transfer the crumb mixture into a 9-inch (23 cm) springform pan and firmly press it into an even layer on the bottom. Use the back of a spoon or a glass to pack it down tightly.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to set.
  5. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with ⅔ cup powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth and creamy (about 3-4 minutes on medium speed).
  6. In a separate chilled bowl, whip 1 cup of cold heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  7. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture using a rubber spatula, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
  8. Fold in 10 finely chopped Oreo cookies to the filling.
  9. Spoon the filling over the chilled crust and smooth the top with a spatula. Cover loosely with plastic wrap.
  10. Refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  11. Remove the sides of the springform pan carefully, slice, and serve chilled.

Notes

Let cream cheese soften at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to avoid lumps. Chill bowl and whisk before whipping cream for better results. Fold whipped cream gently to maintain airy texture. Chill cheesecake for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, for best flavor and texture. Press crust firmly to avoid crumbling. Adding a pinch of salt to crust balances sweetness.
