A refreshing, sugar-free lemonade sweetened with stevia, perfect for hot summer days. This simple recipe delivers a crisp, tangy drink without the sugar crash.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 to 6 medium fresh lemons (about 1 cup or 240 ml fresh lemon juice)
  • 4 cups (32 fl oz) cold filtered water
  • 1 to teaspoons powdered stevia or equivalent liquid stevia drops
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice cubes (optional, for serving)
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Roll each lemon firmly on the counter under your palm for about 30 seconds, then slice in half crosswise.
  2. Juice the lemons using a citrus juicer or reamer, aiming for about 1 cup (240 ml) of fresh lemon juice. Strain to remove seeds and pulp if desired.
  3. Pour the lemon juice into a large pitcher and add 4 cups (32 fl oz) of cold filtered water.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon of powdered stevia (or equivalent liquid drops) and a pinch of salt. Stir well to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more stevia in ¼ teaspoon increments if needed, avoiding bitterness.
  5. Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld. If in a hurry, serve immediately over plenty of ice cubes.
  6. Optional: Garnish with fresh mint sprigs or thin lemon slices before serving.

Notes

Start with a small amount of stevia and adjust gradually to avoid bitterness. Fresh lemon juice is essential for best flavor. A pinch of salt balances the tartness and sweetness. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or serve over ice for immediate refreshment. For a sparkling version, replace half or all water with sparkling water just before serving. Variations include adding fresh herbs, berries, or cucumber slices.
