A quick and easy snack featuring oyster crackers tossed in melted butter and a homemade ranch seasoning blend, baked to crispy perfection. Perfect for potlucks, game days, or anytime you want a flavorful, crunchy treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag (9 ounces / 255 grams) oyster crackers
  • 4 tablespoons (57 grams) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix (store-bought or homemade):
  • – 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • – 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • – 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • – 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • – 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • – 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • – 1/2 teaspoon dried chives (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion salt (optional but recommended)
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Melt the butter gently in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl until fully liquid but not hot. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ranch seasoning mix, paprika, onion salt, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir to blend evenly.
  4. Add the oyster crackers to the bowl. Pour the melted butter over the crackers and toss immediately to coat every piece.
  5. Toss the butter-coated crackers with the seasoning blend, ensuring every cracker is dusted with flavor.
  6. Spread the crackers out in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet, avoiding overlap.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to ensure even crisping.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet to crisp up further.
  9. Once cooled, transfer to an airtight container. Enjoy immediately or store for up to two weeks.

Notes

Stir crackers every 10 minutes during baking to prevent burning and ensure even crispiness. For extra flavor, toss crackers with additional ranch seasoning immediately after baking while still warm. To keep crackers crispy longer, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. If crackers soften, reheat in a 300°F oven for 5 minutes to refresh crispness. For dairy-free, substitute butter with coconut oil or plant-based butter. For gluten-free, use gluten-free oyster crackers or pretzels.
